The three stone engagement ring is making a comeback right now. This is largely thanks to Meghan Markle’s stunning three stone ring. One of the brilliant things about this style is the variations it offers, some of our favourite styles are those that feature baguette shaped diamonds.
Baguette diamonds are a popular side stone, they create a perfect accent to the centre stone and also look great in wedding rings. The two types of baguette diamonds on offer are the straight rectangular baguette with parallel ends and the second is the tapered baguette where two sides taper inwards to create one narrower and one wider end.
Baguette diamonds are perfect for offsetting exquisite all centre stones, from round diamonds to fancy cut shapes, especially Emerald cuts. They suit a wide range of styles but are famously incorporated into Art Deco designs. The geometric step-cut shape is the perfect match for this style, offering the clean lines and boldness that the Art Deco period was renowned for.
In today’s modern world, baguette diamonds are popularly used in streamlined contemporary designs and vintage recreations. The tapered baguette is a particular favourite for offsetting a centre stone in a three stone design.
Baguette diamonds channel set into wedding rings are also beautifully striking, they create the illusion of a continuous row of diamonds making the perfect ring to complement a striking modern diamond engagement ring.
