So, you’ve been together 1, 2,10 or more years and you are now catching yourself daydreaming about the moment that your partner gets down on one knee and proposes.
If you are anticipating this momentous day and starting to wonder whether your partner will make the right decision when it comes to the ring, it might be time to start dropping a few hints before it is too late. After all, an engagement ring is an expensive investment, one that you want to love and be excited to wear. We’d be willing to bet that your partner also wants to see you fall in love with it.
To design the ring and propose with it being a surprise is a brave decision, so why not do what you can to avoid any disappointment from either side, drop the right hints to ensure you are both on the same page.
With the advancement of technology and social media being a part of our everyday lives, it has never been easier to plant a few hints without any mistake being made. Here are a few ways to ensure the hint is delivered without any confusion.
If you know the ring you love then why not be brazen about it and send a private message to your partner with the image attached. That way he has it there for safe keeping in his inbox so when the day comes, it’s easy for him to find which one it is.
Set up a Pinterest page with a header that reads something along the lines of ‘Dream Engagement Rings’ or ‘My Future Engagement Rings’. Add rings that you love, ones that you would be thrilled to receive. Try and avoid posting too many varied styles which ultimately might confuse him and send him in the wrong direction. You probably should also tell him that this page exists!
FOR THE NON SOCIAL MEDIA PARTNER
We can’t assume that all guys are savvy when it comes to social media, there are many who haven’t caught on or just simply prefer not to. If your partner fits into this category then you need to opt for an old-fashioned method such as leaving a brochure or magazine open to the ring your heart desires, set your desktop to the ring of your dreams and word up the women in your life who he is sure to ask; BFFs, your Mum and sisters.
