Cut
Refers to the quality of the cut in order to maximise the visual effect of light travelling through and reflecting off the facets. Factors taken into consideration when grading cut, according to the GIA grading guidelines are: Face up appearance (brightness, fire, scintillation) design (weight ratio and durability) and craftsmanship (polish and symmetry).
Excellent (EX), Very Good (VG), Good (G), Fair (F) and Poor (P).
Larsen Jewellery's online diamond collection does not include diamonds below a Very Good (VG) Cut grade. Please contact the studio if you wish to explore more options.

Ideal
Polish
Refers to the smoothness and quality of polish of each facet of a diamond. Polish is graded on the GIA scale from Excellent to Poor based on the presence and visibility of polish imperfections at 10x magnification. Diamonds with a polish grade of Good to Excellent will not have any polishing imperfections visible to the naked eye.
-
Symmetry
Refers to the precision and consistency of the facet arrangement and placement on a diamond.
According to GIA, symmetry is graded on a scale from Excellent to Poor based on the presence and visibility of symmetry deviations at 10x magnification.

-
Fluorescence
Refers to the intensity of the diamond’s reactions to long wave UV rays. In rare instances, some diamonds with extremely strong fluorescence may appear hazy or oily.
