These rings can be designed for either special occasions – sometimes referred to as cocktail rings, which tend to feature large bold gemstones and diamonds, or it could be something simple for everyday wear, such as a stacking set or a simple solitaire.
If you intend to wear your dress ring every day, then we suggest diamonds or sapphires for your dress ring as these are the most resistant to scratching and are the most suitable for everyday activity. If you intend to wear your ring for special occasions only, your options for coloured gemstones are endless! When it comes to choosing a metal for everyday wear, we recommend platinum or 18ct white gold, rose gold or yellow gold. There is not a great deal of difference between a diamond dress ring and an engagement ring other than the intention of the giver. An engagement ring is given at a proposal or when a couple decides to get married. A dress ring can be given for any occasion.
