Why are they called Tennis Bracelets?

Although this style has been around since the 1920s, the ‘diamond line’ bracelet gained popularity in the 1970s. Attention was drawn to the bracelet style when it was seen worn by Chris Evert on the tennis court as part of her chic tennis attire.

During one particular US Open match in 1978, the clasp on one of Evert’s bracelets broke and play was stopped so she could search for it. The style has been known as the Tennis Bracelet ever since.

How can I make sure my tennis bracelet fits?

If you’re having a tennis bracelet custom made, we will take measurements to ensure the bracelet fits your wrist perfectly. If you’re purchasing one of our ready to wear tennis bracelets, we have multiple size options and can resize these further to create the perfect fit by removing links. Simply send your measurements over to one of our jewellers or book a consultation with us to have your wrist measured.

Can I wear my tennis bracelet all the time?

The flexibility of the links and its ability to work with any outfit, like diamond studs, makes it tempting to wear your tennis bracelet everyday, but you should remember to take care with your jewellery.

Due to their fine assembly, it may be best to avoid wearing your tennis bracelet at work or while playing contact sports or other activities that might result in the bracelet catching. The many moving pieces of a tennis bracelet have the potential to come apart if it twists, becomes caught or is mishandled.

How many Carats should a tennis bracelet be?

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond, so when determining the carat weight of a diamond, there are many factors to consider such as how many diamonds are required to fit around your wrist and what size those diamonds are. On average, we find that most are around 3-5 carats total diamond weight for the tennis bracelet.
