FMFC - The Enchanted Ball

The Financial Markets Foundation for Children was established in 1990 by the Reserve Bank and Australia’s leading commercial banks. For 26 years the Foundation has funded pioneering research focused on improving the health, welfare and wellbeing of Australia’s children. Over $18m has been raised for 229 research projects, many of which have broken new ground in treatment, changing the lives of children and their families for the better. The Foundation operates on a zero-cost basis thanks to pro bono support from corporate Australia. All funds raised are allocated to research.

The support of corporate Australia plays a major role in the success of our fundraising activities. The Enchanted Ball is a premier event on the Australian financial services community’s calendar. The Foundation’s single largest fundraising event each year is the Enchanted Ball. What started as a simple lunch, arranged by four friends who dressed up in polka dot ties and donated a day’s wages to this cause, has become one of Australia’s largest fundraising galas, thanks to support from individuals and companies across Australia. This magical evening of fundraising, entertainment and mingling is organised by volunteers from Australia’s leading financial institutions and attended by 900+ guests.
