Ornella

Having grown up in a remote town in the south of Venezuela, near the Amazonian Rain Forest, Ornella was always awed by the nature that surrounded her and it’s amazing forms and shapes. This inspiration from nature led her to begin her jewellery career by handcrafting necklaces and bracelets with shells and stones she sourced from her area and selling it to the local public.

Ornella - Jeweller

As she got older, Ornella began to feel a need to formally study the art of metal forming and jewellery. In Venezuela she achieved her certification in traditional and contemporary techniques in jewellery. After moving to Australia, she continued her studies at the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) while working as a bench jeweller at a family-owned business. After several years at the bench she decided she wanted to expand her knowledge of the industry and joined the customer service team at Tiffany & Co.

Since joining Larsen Jewellery, Ornella has been able to use her incredible design skills, creativity and knowledge to help her clients design their perfect jewellery pieces. Her passion for her work and her attention to detail has allowed her to build strong and lasting relationships with her clients.

Ornella’s favourite stone to work with is any colour of sapphire although she loves all coloured gemstones. Her absolute favourite style for any jewellery piece is the one which features ancient filigree techniques.
