Choosing between matching or individual wedding rings
12 Nov 2012
One dilemma brides and grooms are often faced with when choosing their wedding bands is whether to choose matching wedding rings or to individually design each ring. There is no right or wrong answer and here at Larsen Jewellery we can assist you in making that decision.
The tradition of couples selecting matching wedding rings stems from the Roman times when simple metal - commonly iron - bands were exchanged. Nowadays, iron bands have been replaced by yellow gold matching bands. This tradition is still very much alive; however it is becoming more and more common for couples to individually design each ring. The bride will usually have an engagement ring and wants to consider this in the design to create a beautiful set. With engagement rings varying so much in design, it simply may be that the groom does not have the same style as the bride. Instead, hand engraving a secret message can be the perfect way to create two rings that are symbolic for each other.
At Larsen Jewellery we custom make all of our jewellery. Whether it is classic gold matching wedding bands you are after or something with an intricate design or two completely different designs we are here to help.
