Bridesmaids Beauty: Your go to checklist to ensure your bridesmaids are perfectly groomed for your big day
June 22, 2017 / Bridal & Dress Jewellery
We like to think our bridesmaids will think our wedding is as important to them as it is to us but that isn’t always the case. Everyone has such busy lives these days, it can be hard to keep track of everything (including your bridesmaids responsibilities). Here is a simple checklist to give your maids make sure they look amazing (but not as amazing as you) on your wedding day.
Manicure and Pedicure
This is a must. Nice nails are necessary for any special occasion. Nails should be done within two days of the big day to ensure they’re still looking their best.
Facial
7-10 days before the wedding, get your bridesmaids to book in for a facial. This will have their skin make-up ready for the big day.
Hair
Ensure all your maids don’t have any excessive and obvious regrowth that may need fixing up. It goes without saying that when you accept bridesmaid’s responsibilities, you accept to adhering to certain grooming standards, regrowth is one of them. It is a no-no.
Brows
Having well-groomed brows is a must for professional photography. Make sure your besties have a booking to get their brows waxed (or threaded or however they get them done) in the week before the wedding.
Tan
Tanning isn’t for everyone but I do think having a slight sun kissed look helps with confidence. Speak to your tanning professional about tan prep and get it done at least two days before the wedding.
Make-up
Your bridesmaids may have their own preferred makeup artist (MUA) or they may be a little beauty whiz themselves. If you trust them when it comes to make-up, ensure you have proof of their booking or you’ve seen photos of how they do their makeup. Make sure you’re clear with them about the look you’re going for if they’re not getting it done with your MUA. You don’t want them going for a bold smokey eye when you’re going for something nice and subtle.
Teeth
Having a beautiful white smile looks incredible in photographs. If your friends are up for it, plan a teeth whitening session together at your local teeth whitening place. Often they will have a few pods in each store so you can all get it done at the same time.
Enjoy yourselves
Whilst grooming is super important when it comes to weddings, make sure you’re enjoying yourself and you’re not too hard on your bridesmaids. They are some of your closest friends and weddings are about love and happiness. Make sure you hold on to that in the lead-up to the big day. In the end, they’re there to share in this special moment and when you truly enjoy yourself, you look your most beautiful anyway!
