Larsen Jewellery unveils The Bachelor Australia’s winning ring

The details around Holly Kingston’s 100% carbon neutral, custom-made ring

Sydney, Australia, September 2, 2021: Bachelor—and pilot—Jimmy Nicholson’s unique ring design has soared to new heights this season with a 100% carbon neutral ring. Marking the fifth season as The Bachelor Australia’s Official Ring Partner, Larsen Jewellery teamed up with Jimmy to design a bespoke light-champagne diamond ring given to Holly in tonight’s highly-anticipated season finale.

From end to end, Jimmy was passionately involved in the ring’s design process, and right from the beginning, sustainability was a key focus. The end result—a refined and elegant contemporary piece with a 2.01ct oval centre diamond, layered with 10 round brilliant cut diamonds in the hidden halo.

The diamonds are set in 18ct rose gold which beautifully complements the warm tones of the oval centred diamond. The 6 marquise-shaped side diamonds are arranged in a completely unique way. To represent Jimmy and winner Holly’s unique love journey, Larsen Jewellery were able to create a hidden halo underneath the ring.

Anna Knapp, Jeweller at Larsen Jewellery worked closely with Jimmy to make his dream ring a reality.

“After the initial consultation, we had a clear idea of the direction we were going to take. Jimmy wanted to create a beautiful everyday dress ring that didn’t fit the mould of a typical engagement ring,” says Anna, Jeweller at Larsen Jewellery.

“It was extremely important to him that the design was modern over traditional to represent his journey with Holly and reflect her inherent stylishness. Jimmy was drawn to rounded diamond cuts and designs that were of a more organic nature in comparison to angular square and rectangular cuts, that he thought looked too harsh on the finger, and a little old fashioned,” continues Anna.

“Each season our Bachelors bring their own sense of style and creativity to the Larsen Jewellery process. Jimmy was very determined, decisive and his attention to the details of the ring like the hidden halo were second to none,” says Lars Larsen, co-founder of Larsen Jewellery.

Being an 100% carbon neutral ring, the certification process required Larsen Jewellery to commission a NoCO2 audit and commit to ongoing annual auditing of emissions. The unavoidable emissions are now offset through the purchase of units in approved projects under the Verified Carbon Standard and Gold Standard.

These projects range from advancing solar and wind power in China, biomass projects in India, and introducing fuel-efficient cookstoves in developing nations.

Larsen Jewellery specialises in custom-made wedding rings, engagement rings and other fine jewellery. At the crux of the company is a commitment to sustainability and ethics, all whilst not compromising the highest quality. They were the first Australian jewellery brand to accomplish 100% carbon neutral status, they offer Fairtrade Gold and donate 10% of all profits to charities.
