How do I know if my tsavorite is real?
A professional gemologist will be able to confirm for you if tsavorite is real. Confirming a tsavorite is real would generally require you to look at it under a microscope, spectroscope or jewellers loupe to analyse the crystal structure and other properties.
Do garnets make good engagement rings?
Tsavorite is a variety of garnet, and is one of the more durable gemstones, with a rating of about 7-7.5 on the Moh’s scale. With proper care, you should be able to wear it every day as an engagement ring.
Is tsavorite expensive?
Tsavorite is a fraction of the cost of an emerald, though like many gemstones, will get more expensive the larger the stone you’re looking for.
Is tsavorite rarer than emerald?
Yes, tsavorite is rarer than emerald. Yet finding high quality tsavorite is generally easier than finding high quality emeralds.
