What does a filigree ring mean?
There’s no specific meaning to filigree rings. The lace-like detail can incorporate floral motifs, initials or other symbolic shapes to give personal meaning to filigree designs.

Filigree rings aren’t specific to one era: filigree has been incorporated in rings and jewellery since the 8th century. Filigree has been a relatively common feature in jewellery ever since, using various techniques in many different ways. In the 21st century, filigree is frequently seen in vintage-inspired engagement ring designs.
What's the difference between filigree & millgrain?
Filigree is forging or carving small metal pieces and combining them in intricate, lace-like patterns. Millgrain is a specific type of border design, where tiny beads are created along the edge of a ring band or setting.
Why is filigree expensive?
Filigree is expensive because it is a labour intensive process. It takes many hours of skilled workmanship to create filigree designs in the metal of the ring.
