Aquamarine is a 7.5-8 on the Moh’s scale, so it’s one of the harder gemstones, able to stand up considerably well to everyday wear. Aquamarine could be a good choice for an engagement ring.
What does aquamarine symbolize?
Historically aquamarine was worn by sailors or travellers for protection. It’s also the birthstone of March and the 19th anniversary stone.
Does aquamarine look better in gold or silver?
Generally if a stone is lighter, silver coloured metal like white gold will bring out the colour more, whereas with darker toned stones, a yellow gold could provide a strong and interesting contrast. It comes down to personal preference and the design you’re looking to create.
