Yellow gold is a traditional choice of metal for engagement rings and remains popular. At Larsen Jewellery, we typically use 18ct yellow gold, this contains 75% pure gold and provides the best combination of strength and purity. Many engagement rings made using yellow gold are made in combination with white gold, which is most often used for diamond settings.
Yellow gold can also be a striking choice of metal for stones other than white or colourless diamonds, as it can either enhance the colour (in the case of yellow sapphires or champagne diamonds) or contrast the colour (as it does with emeralds, rubies and sapphire designs).
